Back when some of us were still in college, the New York Botanical Garden hosted a retrospective of the work and life of Frida Kahlo, read through the inspirational architecture and plant life she kept at her home in Mexico. It was a beautiful exhibit and drew in thousands of viewers. The caveat was that the ad campaign, like all good things Frida, tended to dominate public perception, and some of NYBG’s more regular offerings went unnoticed. So we took it upon ourselves to photograph a different exhibit every day of the week, and upload the best shots to Instagram. In at least one case, an Olympic athlete came all the way from Australia to see the flowers we promoted, so we feel like it’s a job well done.
